Frequently asked questions
A water bottle, indoor exercise shoes or cycling shoes, and a positive attitude. We will provide a sweat towel for you to use during class, if you would rather bring your own you are welcome to do that too. If yoga is being offered with the class we also provide the yoga mat, again you have the option of bringing your own as well.
Arrive 10 minutes early and connect with the instructor. They will help you to set up your bike and show you how to use it. Have fun in this class, we know it will be challenging. Don’t judge indoor cycling on your first class, please come back and give it a second go. On average it takes participants 3 classes to get the hang of it and fall in love with this endurance low-impact cardio workout. If your first class is Strong or Core Foundations we will get you introduced to the instructor prior to class and make sure to set you up in the space.
Wear comfortable workout clothes. Think t-shirt, shorts, capris, tighter pants, etc. Avoid loose-fitting clothing that can get caught up in peddles or cranks. One thing you can depend on is that you will sweat! Make sure to have indoor exercise shoes or cycling shoes and socks.
We offer pedals compatible with both running shoes featuring toe cages and clip-in shoes with SPD clips. You’re welcome to bring your own clip-in shoes or wear clean running shoes for class. Please note that for hygiene reasons, we do not provide shoes for participants.
No worries if you're running late! We understand that things can come up. If you anticipate being late for class, we recommend giving us a call at 780-948-0271 or texting us at 587-705-1050. Rest assured, if you're registered, we’ll always wait for you. We leave the door unlocked for the first 10 minutes of class in case you need a little extra time. Life happens, and we’re here to support you!
Yes, we offer change rooms with showers and complimentary towels for your use.
We have complimentary lockers available for your use. Each locker is locked with a unique code of your choosing.
Yes, if the class you would like to reserve is full you can opt to place yourself on the waitlist. The waitlist goes first come first serve in the order you are added to it. You will automatically be placed in a class and receive notification if a space becomes available.
Yes, of course you can cancel your reservation. We understand life happens. If you cancel within 1 hour of class there is a $5 cancellation fee if we cannot fill the bike. If we do fill the bike no cancellation fee will be billed. Cancel before 1 hour of the class and there is no fee.
This all depends on how hard you work. There are many factors that go into how many calories you burn, including level of resistance, cadence, sex, weight, experience and length of class. Generally speaking, you can expect to burn 350-600 calories in a 45 to 60-minute class.
The average weight lifting or yoga session burns 150-200 calories.
Indoor cycling is the only cardiovascular exercise you can do and build muscle at the same time!
All of our classes at the studio are accessible to all fitness levels from beginner to athlete we have you covered. We will teach you how to modify classes to suit your body and fitness level. We are a no-judgement zone and strongly encourage you to meet your body where you are at. Many of our beginners do enjoy our Sp-oga class as it is a lovely balance of drill and chill.
